It all started with hearing myself and other artists talk about the release of one's work. Not knowing when to release it because it wasn't 'ready'. I had so much material I had been waiting to release for so long. So much that it felt like I had outgrown those moments. With Stark, I have dusted off a few old tunes breathing a bit of life back into them, little time capsules that managed to bring me back to when they were first written - in the privacy of my own company.
By no means are these polished, but then that is kind of the point.
Here goes, refining is forever, take a photograph and let it go. I recorded these with one microphone in my dining room. I am interested in other artist's creative journeys of getting to their 'finale' so I have included a few of my own in Stark Take 一.
Some call them demos, I will call them moments - and these moments capture where I was on that day, when I sat down with my guitar and a cup of coffee.
Watch this space and expect more Stark Takes - bare bones, no tricks - just my stories.

The Journey of the Artwork
I wanted something simple that would line up to the the artwork of my other CD covers
Back to the drawing board - I was not impressed
Back to a simple layout
It was decided - I reshaped some of the pieces I had carved and decided on a shape that looked like a tree trunk as well as a stark leg
